About Us

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have receive from God."
My name is Kyle Murphy and I am the founder and president of Message of Hope Jail and Prison Ministry.

There was a time in my adult life where I found myself in a state of hopelessness, despair, depression and the feeling of being trapped by my own sin and the choices I had made. I had given up on myself and on God, but He didn’t give up on me. In fact, the moment I turned and started on the long journey back home, I found Him waiting for me with arms wide open. While I was still a long way off, He saw me – because He had been watching and waiting for me to come back home. (See Luke 15:20)

Through God’s love, grace and forgiveness; through Christian family and friends; and through a Christ-centered Twelve Step group, I received comfort and over time regained my hope. I was set free.

From there, I began looking for ways to help others and, in May 2012, God
led me to start Message of Hope Jail and Prison Ministry. Since then, He has blessed our efforts and provided countless opportunities for us to share His love with those who are incarcerated. Through the continued support and sponsorship from Roseville Church of Christ, Evident Church, Bethel Christian Church, and others, as well as friends & family, we have been able to grow as a ministry in our programs and outreach.

We continue to seek God's Will in reaching out to other ministries that share our passion in an effort to reach even more incarcerated individuals and share a message of hope, comfort and freedom in Christ.

If you have experienced this same message of hope, comfort and freedom that is found in Jesus Christ please consider sharing it with others by answering God's call. Whether you do this by preaching or teaching, sending cards or letters, visiting one-on-one, or in some other way, the important thing is that you allow the Holy Spirit to work through you for the glory of God.
